In the heart of Rwanda’s vibrant hills, where nature once thrived in harmony with local communities, a silent change began creeping in. Lush forests were giving way to barren land. Rivers that once sustained life were shrinking. Wildlife corridors were disappearing. And the songs of birds in the early morning were fading.
It was in these changing landscapes that Francois Nsengiyumva, a young man from a farming family, began to feel an ache in his heart a feeling that something sacred was being lost.
One day, while walking through a once-flourishing wetland near his home, Francois was struck by the sight of polluted waters, felled trees, and lifeless ground. The land that once fed his community was under threat. The forest that once whispered stories of life and balance had gone quiet.
